Digitalis 'Dalmation Cream'

£3.50

The dalmation series are perennial F1 hybrids and give beautiful uniform growth habit and long flowering. They will grow in the garden border or be used for something different in large pots. Like most Digitalis they require a fertile soil, in partial shade however they will grow in full sun.

The flowers are produced all around the stem and there are many side stems to prolong the show. The new buds all seem to come out a creamy colour but as they open the true flower colour develops. Best re produced by buying new plants or starting from new F1 seed, they flower in their first year and continue for up to 3 years. The seed is coated pellets and sent in tiny test tubes. The seed for this variety can be sown from January to April to flower in the same year. Seed sown in September will need to be kept inside over winter and cared for planting out young plants in the spring.

20 pelleted seeds.

The seed we offer can be sown anytime from January to September. Sowing between January and April will require slight warmth (15°C to 21°C) to maintain germination. Later sowings from April to September will not require artificial heat, they will require protection from sudden downpours or extremes of temperature. Seed trays may dry out more easily in summer sun. Further detailed sowing information is sent with the seeds.
